Broda Family

I got to take this cute little family's pictures today. Doug used to be the college manager at Scheels and then got moved over to Sunglasses and Chandler had the opportunity to take over college and Ashley is an ASL there, its like a company party every time we get together. They moved out here from Reno when the new store here opened and now they are ditching us to move to Montana and be closer to her family and work at the Scheels up there. I'm happy for both of them and super jealous because I would LOVE to live in Montana, so pretty. Anyways, Doug's mom & dad are out from Reno to help them get everything ready for the big move so we snapped some pictures so they could always remember Utah and how cool we are and how much they will miss us. Look at their cute little baby, I mean his smile is totes presh! Anyways, good luck in Montana Bro's!

Varsity Cup

they won. they are going to the varsity cup. i am so excited about rugby this season there really are no words. i always love this weekend, its my dads birthday weekend & rugby semi finals. it also happens to be finals week at BYU so these boys are putting in their dues. our graduating seniors have family in town, took their finals, walked with their class & shut out The Naval Academy 60-0 on a pitch that had continuous rain for about 10 hours. its a beautiful thing. every year my mom asks my dad what he wants for his birthday and its always the same thing, for the boys to make it to the finals. for the last 9 years they have done that. so from the bottom of my heart to the boys who have played rugby at BYU for the last 23 years, thank you. you have given my dad many happy birthdays.

the varsity cup is an elite rugby division that features eight of the most recognized teams in collegiate rugby. of the 33 years of collegiate rugby in the US 31 of those national championships have been won by a varsity cup team. the championship game will be played at Rio Tinto 3rd of May and broadcast live on NBC just after the Kentucky Derby. you can click here for tickets & more information.

also, did i mention it rained. like i thought i was back in ireland rained. i loved it.

Spring.

I'm crushing hard on spring right now. Anything to be outside. Last weekend I ripped every plant except some pretty flowers out of my front yard and laid down some black mulch and I love it. It was hard work but totally worth it. I have come to the conclusion tho that I need more flowers, especially some tulips. Can't get enough of those babies right now.

McArthur Family

So my cousin & his wife and their kids came up from down south on Saturday to watch the rugby game and do family pictures. We went to this cute little park up Provo Canyon & made the boys pose. They hated loved it. I loved the colors that they wore! This time of year outside is sometimes yuck so the bright colors REALLY helped. We had so much fun and got lots of silly pictures. I hope they had as much fun taking them as I did.

Guys, can I just tell you how much I love the silly ones. Sometimes they turn out to be my favorite pictures :)

McArthur Family photos

Today was madness. I left the house early this morning to scout out places for pictures, had 2 hours to kill before the rugby game so I just bummed around P-town. Shooting the rugby games is always a blast for me, I completely zone out and just enjoy the game, so sorry if anyone talks to me and I don't answer, I truly do not hear you. The 1st half of the game was easily the best half I have seen BYU play all year so yay for that. The second half was a little rough but the 1st half gave them enough wiggle room. Then I met my cousins, who came to the game and we went up Provo Canyon to take some family pictures. They are super cute and I love them. Today was looong and I got to do what I love doing, but I am so excited to go to bed...

"Spring"

So I mentioned in my last post that my family has a deep love of rugby, by mentioned I mean probably bored you to tears but anyways, last night was the first midweek game of the season and BYU hosted Cal Poly, if you live in Utah or have been here you know that "Spring" is a loose term. It was beautiful here on Tuesday, I'm talking about 70 degrees, running outside, stopping and petting all the horses & letting Tuck pee on every bush because he's a dog and thats what he does. Wednesday different story. It was a typically Utah March storm. This is my favorite photo from last nights game, you can check out the rest here

Rugby

So, someone reading this might not know some key things about me, I'm the oldest of 3 kids. We fought when we were little but now there truly is nothing I wouldn't do for my siblings. My husband's included, he is also the oldest of all of his siblings (blended families) and because of that we always feel like we need to "guide" them around our mistakes. For a long time I thought the people I was friends with in High School would be there for every big part of my life, we would always stay friends and my kids would grow up calling them "aunt/uncle so and so" Things changed. I grew up & we went different ways, and I truly am okay with that. It taught me that my family is everything, they might make me crazy but they are my family.

My dad is the Head Coach of the BYU Rugby team, he's contributed a lot to what the program is today, you can read more about them here. He helped start the Varsity Cup with a few other coaches and on top of that is still raising my sister (she's in college) and my brother (he's in high school) and is a Mormon Bishop. Because of my dads involvement in the sport its our family favorite. I spend my Saturdays at the field and have for 23 years. I've gone from playing under the bleachers, to watching in the trees, screaming in the stands and now I'm lucky enough to photograph on the sidelines for my other blog. My little brother plays rugby for a local team here called United. I've taken some pictures at his last two games and its crazy how much I get into it, just ask my sister she won't sit by me sometimes because I'm embarrassing. My brother is the baby so sometimes I forget that he's already 16, getting bigger than me (I'm the shortest of my siblings) and doing all the stuff teenage boys do, I still see him as the little boy we taught how to walk and played Crash Team Racing with. I'm proud of him for playing tho, the kid is pretty busy, between rugby, soccer and a social life homeboy still manages to make the Honor Roll, so this ones for you little bro. Love ya! & thanks for letting me take your pictures!
